How to deepen your acting practice

acting practice Aug 12, 2022

The job is the art of being human.

So what better way to explore than when we are in relationship with other human beings that you meet out on the street, those who are close to you in your life.

Go out and honour other people's differences.

Allow slowly the practice of expectations and assumptions to fall away

Meet each human being with curiosity.

Know that if you are curious about them, when you go back into your own art form, you have a greater palette of human experience to work from.

Because each time you meet someone and each time you listen to someone and each time you get to know them in a more horizontal, vertical, rich way, that opens up your palate of understanding for when you go into character.

So you don't have to have experienced it in order to obviously play it, because you can imagine it.

If you're meeting people and you're interested in people and you're listening to people, that's a practice.

That's an actor's practice.
