Guided Practice for artists vision of the bigger picture | Speaking from experience

As I look around, I follow a winding path and immerse myself in the symphony of nature - the bird song and the wind rustling through the trees, reminiscent of ocean waves. Pausing, I take in the beauty around me, realising that every 360-degree turn presents a new and distinct view, each valid and uniquely different.

When I allow myself to deviate from the set path and venture beyond a straight line, my experience becomes more profound, providing me with a broader perspective of the bigger picture.

In contemplating how I communicate, I find there are two distinct approaches: speaking about my experiences and speaking from them. Speaking about the world grants me distance, allowing me to share opinions and thoughts on various matters. On the other hand, speaking from my own experiences offers immediate access to the present moment, connecting me directly to the here and now.

Speaking about myself or others often involves inherent assumptions and judgments, while speaking from myself embraces a free-flowing, associative state that reveals what truly lies within.

Living in the world, speaking about it, and speaking from it present different paradigms. To explore these approaches, consider engaging in a daily exercise of self-expression, noting how it feels to speak from where you are and how it contrasts with speaking about yourself or others. Writing down your thoughts or sharing them with a trusted individual can be transformative.

With practice, you can develop the skill of integrating the self, others, the environment, community, planet, and cosmos in your expression. When you speak from the depths of your being, a magical alchemy occurs, as others resonate with your authenticity. Even if they don't resonate, the experience of feeling different can lead to greater self-awareness and clarity.

Remember, there's no right or wrong in how we feel; each perspective is unique and valid. So, take a moment this week to explore how it feels to speak from and about various aspects of your life, and notice the profound impact it may have on your understanding and connection with the world.
