We’re in a world where silencing creates fear, and being silent creates fear. As artists, we’re also in the practice of the sharing of a voice that is messy, vulnerable, chaotic, because that prevents fear and silencing.
It’s very important, because the discovery of how you discover your own "speaking from where you are", without controlling what you have to say, so that it lands okay with another person.
That’s not your job as an artist. Your job is to speak from the thing that you’re curious about and you’re wondering about.
That’s what’s going to give you integrity, stability and solidity as you wield your pen through the world as a new type of sword with ink and paper!
