The inclusion of the body is the game changer, because it's not about the content, it's not about the words.

It's actually, as you know, it's about something that's beneath them and the layers of resonance beneath them and what they have to do with the past and the future and the expectation and the fantasy and the belief and the dilemma of the character.

All of those layers are stacked in the body - imagination, sensation, emotions, senses.

And then the character has the impulse to speak from that experience.

Speaking from experience. That's your work.

The complex du jour has been : what is it to just be there in experience?

And these people are sharing the experience with me. So actually, all I'm doing is practising experiencing moments, which means they're going to be as surprising to you as they are to them if you're experiencing.

And it's allowing experience to be of value, whereas we live in a society where content and concept are of value, however you have to fight to feel alive.

And that's why I go to the theatre, that's why I go watch a film, is because I want to feel that poetic aliveness.

It gives me the mosaic of life, and therefore I feel whole through the storytelling.

So you, as the actor, need to mirror that storytelling and get really crafted and think of yourself as a very ordinary craftsperson, a carpenter, or a ceramicist. 

It's a very ordinary practice that has extraordinary multiple kinds of meteor showers of beauty.
