So the thing you have to focus on is, how do I give my body the skills that allows it walk into any situation, whether that's an audition onto a film set, into a rehearsal room, how can Ino matter where I am give it signals that this is an easy place to be, it's comfortable and I can enjoy myself and play.
That won't be accessed through the mind, it doesn’t matter how many affirmations you write in a notebook, that’s not going to help.
Because you want to be able to acknowledge the nervousness, the fear, the excitement, the wobbly belly, the sweaty hands, the kind of breath that's kind of increasing.
You want to be able to observe this and then offer the body in its own language something to help come into an alive, alert ​​stillness and the thing that does that are your senses.
So you want a sense of self wherever you are, but the sense of self built on:
What is it that I see in my environment that feels easeful, pleasurable, comfortable, good?
What are the sounds that I hear that drop to my ears and give my bones and my muscles and my cells and my energy body a sense of ease and enjoyment?
What right now in this moment what part of my body feels grounded?
