Transformative 2-day workshop exploring compassion, emotional resilience, and relational growth through somatic practices
With Helena Walsh & Silke Fogele
July 5–6, 2025 | Glendalough, Wicklow, Ireland

A trusted space where every voice matters...
The Art of Empowerment and Resiliency is a transformative workshop designed to foster relational intelligence through the practice of compassion, vulnerability, and deep listening. In a safe, embodied space, participants will explore how to meet conflict, disconnection, and vulnerability with presence, compassion, and an open heart. Drawing on the principles of Neurosystemics, Somatic Group Process, and compassionate practice, this workshop encourages participants to slow down, connect deeply with themselves and others, and cultivate emotional resilience.
This workshop is for those who want to explore how compassion can be the root of relational growth — both in professional settings (including acting and other creative fields) and personal life. By engaging in somatic practices and deepening emotional awareness, participants will gain tools to hold space for others' emotional journeys while staying grounded and resilient themselves.

🗓️ Workshop Flow
Day 1: Cultivating Compassion and Relational Intelligence
-
Opening Circle & Setting Intentions:
-
Participants will share their goals for the workshop, creating a space of openness, curiosity, and vulnerability.
-
Introduce the concept of compassion as the foundation for relational growth, both with oneself and others.
-
-
Compassion as the Root of Connection:
-
Compassion is the skin through which vulnerability breathes. When we practice compassion, we create a fertile terrain for our conditioned selves — those parts of us shaped by limiting beliefs or the inner critic — to dissolve and give way to new, empowered self-beliefs.
-
Through the practice of compassionate attention, we begin to notice what already exists within us that is of value and strength, building a belief that we are powerful, creative, and inspired.
-
Learn how what we pay attention to multiplies — paying attention to our capacity for compassion begins to change our neuroplasticity and the way we relate to the world.
-
-
Nervous System Regulation:
-
Introduce techniques to regulate your nervous system, using somatic practices like breathwork, grounding, and body awareness exercises to bring calm and presence.
-
Focus on the concept that embodied compassion creates space for relational growth by softening the tension of the nervous system and allowing deeper connection to self and others.
-
-
Somatic Group Process:
-
Dive into Somatic Group Process — a practice that integrates the body’s wisdom in relational healing. The group will explore how to hold compassionate space for one another as you work through personal relational challenges and patterns.
-
You will begin to explore your own barriers to relational expression, such as shame, fear of conflict, or difficulty voicing differences, while receiving compassionate support from the group.
-
-
Group Reflection & Sharing Circle:
-
Engage in a reflective sharing circle to process the experiences of the day and explore the impact of compassion in the group setting.
-
Day 2: Relational Growth through Compassionate Engagement
-
Compassionate Listening and Empathy:
-
Empathy without compassion has no space. Through compassion, we allow feelings to move through us, whether those are our own emotions or those of others. This section will deepen your understanding of how to differentiate between your feelings and those of the people you interact with.
-
Learn how to hold empathy for others’ emotions, whether it’s rage, sadness, or frustration, without taking those emotions on as your own.
-
The power of compassionate listening will be practiced through exercises designed to explore how to listen without judgment and hold space for the humanity of others.
-
-
Compassionate Attention and Neuroplasticity:
-
Focus on how what we pay attention to grows — building practices that guide the group to notice and honor the vulnerable aspects of ourselves and others.
-
Learn how compassionate attention strengthens emotional resilience and deepens relational intelligence, allowing us to face discomfort and conflict with greater presence and clarity.
-
-
Exploring the Blocks to Connection:
-
Reflect on the blocks that may hinder your compassionate engagement, such as the fear of conflict, shame, or the desire to fix others' emotions. Explore how to cultivate healthy emotional boundaries while remaining open to others’ experiences.
-
Recognize how your ego plays a role in how you relate to others. Compassionate practice allows us to see others' beauty and vulnerability, realizing that the beauty we see in another is a reflection of ourselves.
-
-
Building a Healthy Ego through Compassion:
-
Discover how to build a healthy ego — one that doesn’t compare or judge but recognizes the inherent worth in both yourself and others.
-
Compassionate awareness helps actors (and all people) develop a grounded sense of self that is not based on comparisons but rooted in present-moment awareness and acceptance of human complexity.
-
-
Relational Growth Circles:
-
Practice compassionate engagement in Relational Growth Circles, where you explore how to embody compassion in moments of conflict, vulnerability, and emotional challenge.
-
Learn the skill of moving toward repair, staying with the discomfort long enough to foster relational healing.
-
-
Closing Circle & Integration:
-
In the closing circle, participants will reflect on their journey over the two days and set intentions for continuing their compassionate practice in daily life.
-
You will leave with a deeper understanding of how to live, work, and engage from a compassionate place, fostering emotional resilience and deepening your relational intelligence.

Let's Talk Techniques
The breakdown
The Creative Path™
Over the past 30 years, Helena has developed a system which integrates your creative mind and your creative body in relation to your relationships, your colleagues, the natural world and how the creative source moves people to become innovative. This work is a daily practice that invites you through guided practices to begin to notice more of what's around you through what you see, hear and touch. Landing in this quality of presence acts as the foundation for greater self awareness and consciousness. Giving you the tools to be able to observe with practice your own thoughts, sensations, emotions, imagination so that you can include it as a way of being alive in the moment to your life.
The work fosters a depth of relational intelligence and communication that in time invites more intimacy and trust in your relationships, your teams, your communitites, your organisations. This practice gives you a greater sense of how to acknowledge difference within groups, giving permission for paradox, opposition and conflict to be welcomed in group dynamics as something that acts as a rich moment of growth for the collective.

What is Organic Intelligence®
Organic Intelligence (OI) is a unique theory and clinical practice of human empowerment, resiliency, and compassion to resolve the effects of stress and anxiety.
This work helps you turn nervous energy and anxiety into a source of empowerment and grounded self expression.
The Organic Intelligence® (OI) clinical protocol suggests that, from a systems perspective, what’s wrong with therapy is the focus on what’s wrong — including the focus on trauma.
Organic Intelligence brings a necessary shift in perspective from pathology and trauma to the proven methods drawn from the wisdom of mindfulness and the science of self-organization. OI teaches how healing happens from the nervous system up and makes it possible to imagine freedom from suffering. Freedom from suffering becomes freedom for living an authentic, vibrant life in the here-and-now.
OI teaches coaches how to observe relevant client behaviors according to a very clear map. This mapping allows coaches to understand the nervous system state, and reveals what kind of intervention is most likely to support natural systemic reorganization.
Rather than providing insight per se, Organic Intelligence aims to shepherd observable physio-emotional states according to a protocol which aligns with subtle, but naturally occurring organismic trends toward increased coherence — the rhythm of an integrative biology. We employ a ‘shaping’ paradigm of positive reinforcement — a true paradigm shift in trauma therapy.
Organic Intelligence was developed by Steve Hoskinson, MA, MAT, who has trained thousands of practitioners and mentored trauma resolution instructors in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
What is Neurosystemics
NeuroSystemics is a mindfulness-based and relational method for people's personal and collective development towards greater levels of well-being, resilience, and empowerment in dealing with the challenges of daily life (work, relationships, community, culture). So that we can begin to meet and master life's challenges, which deepens our experience of meaning, aliveness and belonging.
How does Neurosystemics work?
Neuro = nervous system (which organizes the way we process information and experiences)
Systems = the many layers of systems (relational, cultural, societal, ecological) that we live within
NeuroSystemics session = we have a free and unstructured conversation in which we'll talk about whatever is at the foreground of your life's unfolding that day (personally or as a group). As a Neurosystemics practictioner, I will help you explore your here-and-now experience that goes along with the content of our conversation. As we'll begin to explore and expand on -- often unnoticed -- signals that are coming from your body and mind, we find that when these signals are noticed and nurtured by our shared attention, they will begin to bring new insights and resources for meeting and mastering your challenges and goals in life.

What's different about the approach
- Working with the whole nervous system (MOSAIC) instead of one channel (like CBT, or emotion-focused, or hypnotherapy with imagery, etc.)
- A positive reinforcement and non-pathologizing framework (looking for signs of health and healing instead of disease and disorder)
- Going beyond Resiliency (phase 2) towards Prosilience / Coherence (phase 3). Prosilience (and coherence) mean our capacity to grow in many ways. This happens by meeting and mastering life's challenges. We therefore hold the possibility of living a full life, with on-going exploration of our human experience and an ever-increasing curiosity that fuels learning, growth and (spiritual) development.
- Leaving behind the excessive reductionism and individualism of traditional therapy. We rather include all systems that we (and our clients) live in and engage with (i.e. Sense, Self, Social, Societal, Soil, Stars, what have you). To do that we offer different practices (self-regulation, 1on1, circles, forums)
- We are utilizing the importance of the healing relationship and actively engaging as therapist/facilitator as compared to ‘doing a protocol’.

I find myself with an incredibly powerful support that is crucial in my life in these difficult times. Helena's combination of cutting edge techniques allows you to feel strongly grounded, open-minded and supported at the same time. I am always amazed at the immediate and effective way you can achieve results, which otherwise would take years to obtain, and only in a very partial way, with more traditional techniques.

If you'd like to become an artist of compassionate leadership, this course is exactly what you should try, and Helena is exactly who you're looking for. MY LAST PIECE OF ADVICE
Be gentle, go gently and feel where you belong
Some days are gentle days. Days to slip into your own silence and wash away all the shame, misunderstandings, aches and come home to who you are. Offering a gentle nest to lick your wounds, bathe your heart in nothingness, wrap your soul in a blanket, sit your tired body by the fire and watch the flames rise and the embers glow. Inviting birdsong to soothe what lies much deeper than explanation and reason in the landscape of the unknown in you.
