Here's what's inside:

  • You will work on specific scenes or monologues from plays or other written works in order to deepen and expand your acting craft.

  • During this two-week in person workshop, you will work with Chris and Helena to break down the text, analyze the characters and their motivations, and develop your own interpretations of the scene or monologue.

  • This workshop allows you to practice your craft in a supportive and focused environment, and to receive feedback and guidance from experienced professionals, Helena Walsh and Chris Edmund.

  • Additionally, it allows you to dive deeper into a specific text and discover new layers of meaning and characterization that may not have been obvious on the first read-through.

  • Overall, it's a great way for you to improve your acting craft and to get a better understanding of the script and the characters you will be playing and really experience what it means embody an alive, alert stillness within your character and with your scene partner.
  • How Helena works with you:
A lot of the work Helena has been doing over the last five years, has been studying nervous system regulation with some of the top people in the world.
Because Helena began to realise that one of the biggest challenges for actors was performance anxiety and personal anxiety.

Helena started to work with this in more detail and discovered, that her actor's performances became much more complex. They started moving out of intensity and into complexity. They started moving out of the "what's wrong attention" and into real enjoyment and pleasure inside their lives, their work with story, their relationship with character and their relationship with their scene partner.

Helena works with Organic Intelligence®, and that'll be working one to one with you in the room. And then she works with the Neurosystemics™ of the group. This is really about compassionate, collective change and co-creativity and how do you in groups, find your voice and speak from a place where you feel very much yourself, your authentic self and then Helena will be working with you on embodying the text.

  • How Chris works with you:
"In my workshops and teaching, I try, in a supportive, creative atmosphere and environment, to explore the notions of truth and authenticity in the acting process. As people, we build up defences and armour to deal with life but success as an actor depends on being open, free, receptive and vulnerable.

I believe that by allowing the valves of feeling to open, committing to scrupulous analysis of text for acting clues, being in relationship and close contact with one’s scene partner and allowing heart into the work can bring formidable and often unexpected results.

I have had forty years of experience worldwide as a teacher and director and remain passionate and questing in my commitment to nurturing actors to develop and further their craft and evolve as dynamic, resourceful, skilled and successful artists."

"A MASTER IN THE CRAFT OF DIRECTING"

"Chris Edmund is a master in the craft of directing. He creates a safe container for actors to play, explore, & collaborate…gracefully & elegantly inviting us into the unknown, like a magnificent sculptor, until the characters, story & piece itself are discovered and revealed. Chris’ process felt pure, energizing & expansive."

Me! I'm Helena Walsh

Voice & Acting Coach | Human Empowerment & Resiliency Organic Intelligence® Consultant.

For over 25 years, I have been transforming personal and collective lives, firstly as a voice and acting coach, a leader and director in international organisations, and more recently, as an entrepreneur, business woman and human empowerment and resiliency coach in the international arts world.  My work supports my clients to break through personal and organisational obstacles that seem to be holding them back in their personal and professional lives.

My programmes and workshops are one of a kind, encouraging collective transformation and empowering interpersonal relationships within your team so that they may become more co-creative, innovative and inspired.

I design human empowerment and resiliency programmes for the corporate world and have worked with start-ups and corporations including Google, LinkedIn, AIB, Facebook, Henry J Lyons and many more.

I feel incredibly grounded and rooted, and confident to take what I have learnt forward into my work. It has been so lovely to train at the studio and it is comforting to know I now have a supportive place to return to, to nourish and feed my craft.

After completing the 20 week program, I can easily say that I have found a forever mentor in Helena. She is incredibly knowledgeable, inspiring, and nurturing. Working with her I continually rediscover and deepen my love of the craft, while simultaneously developing a deeper connection to myself, others, and the world around me. I have learned how to create a safe space for myself - no matter the setting - so I feel free to play with ease and curiosity. I have learned the importance of trusting the body and how to find my authentic voice regardless of character or accent. In addition, Helena teams up with like-minded, passionate instructors who expand on and put Helena’s teachings into practice. This program has been life changing, a brilliant light source during these times. Would recommend it to any human, actor or non-actor alike..

Having had the honour to work with Chris Edmund, I can say that you only grow, expand and learn more about your craft with him. As a director, he will work with you from the most subtle parts of text and will bring you to the extremes, too. He will help you to inject new elements to the text in order to liberate you, as the actor, to discover more truth in story.  The specificity and dexterity in your craft will come out to play because you had the small pieces of you heard & empowered, and because you sing like a Robin and are careless about how big you are to be, and because you are in the here & now allowing things to emerge spontaneously, and you will never feel you have to stretch yourself when a director asks you for something because you are on a process-led actor path now.

I found the course to be highly instructive, invigorating and inspirational. The holistic
content and approach of the course was perfectly tailored for online delivery allowing me to thrive
from the comfort of my own home. I highly recommend it, as the skills I refined and integrated are equally applicable for my acting, my work in a corporate environment and for my life in general.

The embodied character is the most intimate expression of the human experience.

To truly offer an authentic, moving human experience in your storytelling requires a nuanced, subtle, flexible and pleasurable connection to your voice. The voice is the most intimate expression of the self and can convey ten thousand intimacies through a freely expressive, present actor.
